This week we will be supporting the Lewis Sports Foundation: Founded in 1999 by Leo Lewis, the Lewis Sports Foundation (LSF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community service organization dedicated to providing our youth with the tools to develop life skills through education and physical activity.
By promoting physical activity and sports participation, we have been able to improve the abilities of our young people to cope with the daily challenges of life. Enlisting the unique talents of local teachers, coaches and mentors, the Foundation provides students with the necessary resources to establish a balance between education, citizenship, life management and sport.
For the long-term, the LSF will be the sport and life resource that supports individuals, teams and organizations year-round in fulfilling their goals. The Foundation is formed to manage several programs and serves as a funding agent for scholarships and grants.

This week we will be supporting MN CAN: MnCAN provides a variety of programs and services for people with aphasia and their care partners. MnCAN actively promotes strong, collaborative partnership with local communities. Through these partnerships, MnCAN has obtained donated meeting spaces, built awareness of the aphasia community, and established a referral network. Many groups are also offered virtually to accommodate transportation challenges and in order to reach people in varying locations and outstate areas of outreach.

“April 9th would have been Tommy's 17th birthday, and will be the 3rd that we celebrate without him with us. To commemorate this special day, the BeLikeTommy Project is hosting a celebration at Back Channel Brewing and all are invited to join! We will be having a toy drive to support WeCAN - Western Communities Action Network and Children's Minnesota, have bingo from 5-7 pm, The Brick Oven Bus will be slinging pies, and a portion of all beer sales go towards the project. We hope to have you join us!”

“Last weekend the MWHS Tonkabots won the regional robotics competition(for the first time ever) in Duluth and made it to the world championship in Houston coming up in mid-April. The team is quickly working on fundraising to get the team to Houston as well as to rebuild their robot, "Sid".”

This week we will be supporting the Wingman Matt Patient and Family Assistance Fund.
“Wingman Matt is a mission-based business focused on giving back. Built on a perfected recipe that requires no dipping sauce, our signature menu item—a broasted, chipotle chicken wing—doesn’t need much of an introduction; but the true flavor of Wingman Matt comes from the hearts of its founders, Bill and John.
John’s son Matt suffered with cancer throughout his childhood and, while in the hospital, his heart broke for other children around him whose parents were unable to be bedside with them. Although Matt’s physical battle with cancer came to an end in 2017, he lives on as our “wingman.” Our mission is to keep the fire of Matt’s heart alive by supporting the families of those fighting pediatric cancer.
In his honor, Wingman Matt donates a portion of profits to the Wingman Matt Patient and Family Assistance Fund which goes toward helping families with non-medical expenses, allowing them to spend more time supporting and spending time with their loved one.”

Join us for our 5th annual Last Call 4 Walleye fundraiser for the Westonka Walleye Program. Proceeds from the day will be donated back to the program and there will be plenty of awesome raffle prizes to take home. We will also have our famous walleye shirts for sale. Since the club’s charter, we have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, such as our annual Pancake Breakfast, Spaghetti Dinners, Spirit of the Lakes, and the Westonka Recreational Park.

Back Channel Brewery is hosting The Northwest Tonka Lion’s Club for a Community Tuesday event on February 20th from 3:00pm to 9:00pm at Back Channel Brewery.
Come for a pint and stay for camaraderie! It’s what we’re all about. Cheers to community, laughter, and making our community better for everyone! We will have live music and three free basket give aways.

Our boating club has fun together, learns together, and volunteers together.
We are passionate about boating and are enriched when we help others become more confident on the water. We volunteer in the communities around Lake Minnetonka because we want to make our local waters safe and enjoyable, and because we care about our neighbors and the neighborhoods we live in.
America’s Boating Club® is for all types of boaters and their families. We bring novice and experienced boaters together to improve their boating skills, make connections volunteering in the community, and to just enjoy time together.
